Dog Training Classes 

Research shows that getting your dog into classes has life long benefits in terms of preventing behavioral problems, so whether you have a newly rescued dog, a new puppy, or a dog who you just want to do something fun with, Fortunate Fido has dog training classes for all of your needs!

Our classes help you and your dog learn to work around real world distractions so that you can be a better team when you need it most!

What dog training class should we start with?

The best classes to start out with are our Puppy Fundamentals class for dogs under 5 months or our Fido Fundamentals – Manners class for dogs 5 months up to 2 years. Both of these classes cover essential new dog issues such as jumping, attention, and walking issues. You can see more information about what these classes cover and eligibility below!

Puppy Fundamentals & Fido Fundamentals – Manners

Our manners classes are six weeks long and on the same day and time each week. The first week is for PEOPLE ONLY to go over the class setup, what to bring, and what to expect, as well as to go over how to use a clicker! The following five weeks, you bring your dog and work together to learn new behaviors such as:

  • Attention around distractions
  • Polite greetings
  • Confidence
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Handling
  • Loose leash walking

Our Puppy Fundamentals class is for dogs five months and under.

Our Fido Fundamentals – Manners class is for dogs 5 months to 2 years.

For dogs over 2 years, we require a private lesson before enrolling in a class.

Services

We offer classes for dogs of every age and skill level that teach your dog basic obedience as well as sport specific classes like Rally, Scent Work, and Parkour.

We also offer private lessons which let you pick and choose what you would like to work on. It could be as simple as learning more about your puppy or training impulse control, relaxation around other dogs, and more!

It’s kind of hard to write this because what Ginger has done for me & my dog is so big it’s truly hard to fit into words and just overwhelming to think about. I guess it’s pretty much like the proverbial “pebble in the pond” or “ripple effect.” One in home visit with her led to so many positive changes.
